Immigration Research Initiative (IRI) : Call for Applications – 2022 Immigration Research Initiative Postdoctoral Fellowship (march 14th 2022)

The Immigration Research Initiative (IRI) located in the Department of Political Science at Concordia University (Montreal) is launching its call for the 2022 Postdoctoral Fellowship Competition. IRI is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship for 2022 working in the field of immigration. The fellowship is for a period of 12 months.
Funded by the Secrétariat québécois aux relations canadiennes, IRI’s objective is to connect Quebec to immigration research from other regions of the world. Its annual postdoctoral fellowship program aims to support a researcher from outside Quebec who wishes to develop a research project comparing Quebec with the rest of Canada or with other regions of the world.

More precisely, IRI is looking for candidates wishing to pursue a project on: 1) comparative immigration policies and politics or 2) immigrant integration and/or attitudes toward immigration. Qualitative and quantitative methodologies are welcome. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Antoine Bilodeau and/or Mireille Paquet.

The postdoctoral fellowship is worth $53,000 in salary, plus $2500 in research funds and $2500 in travel funds for conferences.

The selected candidate is expected to be present at Concordia University for a period of 12 months and to begin his/her stay sometime between March and September 2022.

The selected candidate will also be integrated to the Centre for the Study of Politics and Immigration at Concordia University and will be expected to participate in the activities of the Équipe de recherche sur l’immigration dans le Québec actuel.
