About this Event

On Wednesday, May 13th from 12:00-1:00 pm, join Ryerson’s CERC in Migration and Integration program for a webinar to investigate the extraordinary challenges that migrant populations are facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

International experts, and contributors to the blog Pandemic Borders, will share their perspectives on the precarious conditions facing vulnerable residents and workers at and within national borders.

In our second webinar, COVID and Solidarity, the panel of experts explore the positive effects of the pandemic, asking: “How might border closures make us rethink membership, belonging, and solidarity?” and “Can the pandemic give rise to more rather than less transnational solidarity?”

This webinar features short talks, followed by audience Q&A.

Meet the speakers:

Dr. Caterina Francesca Guidi, of the University of Siena

Ms. Margaret Godoy, of Ryerson University

Dr. Harald Bauder, Ryerson University
